You can find Maurillia every Saturday at the El Dorado Ranch swap meet near
Sandra’s fruit stand. For about 25 pesos each, you can enjoy as many tamales
as your diet allows. For a pineapple tamale, try the vendor by the entrance of
the swap meet. And if you would like to try some extra spicy tamales wrapped
in banana leaves, try the vendor at the Mexican swap meet “Los Arbolitos” in
town. When you are enjoying them, remember the hours of work and all the love
that goes into the time-honored Mexican tradition.
