Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody’s looking for something.
Song by the Eurythmics
This chorus line from “Sweet Dreams” has always been an inspera-
tion to my gypsie nature, to search for something new, an adventure
to a new town, city, country or continent. If you are looking for a road
trip, a cruise, or an exotic adventure to a far away place, we hope
some of the stories feature in Breeze, will offer some ideas for new
destination both local and international.
Hot Springs in Puertecitos
On the Sea of Cortez, about 50 miles south of San Felipe, along the coast
to you’ll find the tiny town of Puertecitos, known for its tidal hot springs
(aguas termales). They are located on a rocky outcropping at the tip of the
bay, there are spring-fed pools right
at the tide line. The pools are differ-
ent heights, and each has a different
temperature depending on how big
the pool is and how much tide water is
mixed in. The spring water itself is ex-
tremely hot on its own, so be careful.
Make sure to check tide charts and
time with an incoming or outgoing
tide to get the right blend of ocean wa-
ter and hot spring water. It was a humbling experience to feel so physically
the forces of nature at work, in a matter of minutes, the tidal hot springs
were fully covered with the ocean tides, unable to even be seen – only to
reemerge once the tides got lower. So find time to travel and enjoy nature!
