PUSHING IT TO THE LIMIT
The dust was settling, and the last can of beer was popped open on the dirt race
course, when the announcement came that the unconfirmed winner of the 37th Score
San Felipe 250 race in the Trophy Truck category was ALAN AMPUDIA.
This Ensenada racer, beat race favorites Luke McMillan and Bryze Menzes by about
2 minutes. The official announcement was made Sunday morning by SCORE Presi-
dent, Abelardo Grijalva, after all the race data had been officially reviewed.
Alan is part of the famous Ampudia family of Mexico’s Papas & Beer fame. He drove
solo to power his remarkable No.10 Mason-built all-wheel drive Ford Raptor to lead
the fifth largest number of starters and finishers in the race history. Alan finished in
a penalty-free time of 4 hours, 2 minutes, 21 seconds. This was the first time in his
career, to paint the finish line in green, white and red, with a win for Mexico.
