A note from MY DESK
Welcome September, we have survived the summer months
and our friends from the North are returning, which should
make a lot of merchants very happy. Breeze is growing, we have
a bunch of eclectic stories and articles in this issue. I guess it
reflects who we are in San Felipe. I find them very interesting
and fun! I themed this issue Mexican Independence Holiday
to commemorate our host country’s culture and history, this
September 16. Also, I added a little contest along with our
cover artist Philip van Rensburg . We hope you’ll play along. I want to take a moment to
once again thank our writers, readers, but more important our sponsors for their support. A
few merchants, primarily in the food sector, have told me they can post on FaceBook for
free, why pay? I guess they have a point, if posting a picture of your soup, hamburger
or cheese platter gets you clients, go for it. I totally understand other merchants not
wanting to advertise as they don’t find the magazine interesting, as they don’t speak the
language, though I try to make it relevant to our little town, and perhaps that’s it, San
Felipe is a little village that relies on FaceBook for their promotions. So I’m at a cross
road deciding to continue, I enjoy doing it, but the sales are tough.
