Q: Have you thought about entering into politics yourself?
A: I have no interest in running for a political career. As a wife I support my
husband’s career, and shares his vision for San Felipe and its future. We
are currently not sure if he will continue been in politics, while there are
talks of possible jobs in politics in the future, he is not necessarily courting
politics. We are a team, I will be a sup-
porting wife to my husband if he decides
to move forward in this environment, but
we are leaving this decision in the hands
of God and he will guide us in this desti-
ny. That said, we will continue supporting
the programs he started during his time
as Municipal President, and the best
for San Felipe and its people. We want
a prosperous but still calm and charming
San Felipe, we don’t want the essence of
this city to be lost. We want to see prog-
ress and development on infrastructure
and services, such as an airport and a
hospital, so that the people of San Felipe
can benefit from it.
As I bid Lidia goodbye can help but notice how she takes the time to talk to
the staff at Las Palmas and see how humble and charming her demeanor is,
It seems to me that she has a heart and mind full of ideas and well wishes
for our beautiful San Felipe and I love having someone like her being the
person behind the man who is in charge of our city.
The National System for Integral Family Development
(Spanish: Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de
la Familia; SNDIF or just DIF) is a Mexican public institu-
tion of social assistance that focuses on strengthening and
developing the welfare of the Mexican families. The insti-
tution was founded by Carmen Romano, wife of Mexican
president Jose Lopez Portillo. The National Director of DIF
reports to the President of Mexico and has traditionally been
the First Lady of Mexico. Local chapters of the DIF report to
municipal presidents and governors.
