As San Felipe entered it’s 1st Year as an Independent
Municipality, a new government was formed. With it
came it’s support team, in this case the First,
First Lady of San Felipe.
As I sat here waiting for the
First Lady of San Felipe, on
the beautiful patio at the Last
Palmas Hotel, I couldn’t help
by wonder about the lady I was
about to meet, after all, I have
never heard much of her and
barely knew about her husband
Jose Luis Dagnino Lopez, the
current Municipal President of
San Felipe. She approached,
very punctual with a wide smile
on her face. As we sat to talk,
I take on the person in front of
me, quite a charming beautiful
lady, with an aura of self-as-
surance yet not arrogant, who
greeted me like we were long
lost friends; She proceed to
introduce herself to me as Lid-
ia Teresa Enciso Suarez and
asked not be called first lady, as
she prefers to go by Lidia.

Q: Though you are well known in San Felipe, as “La Primera Dama”, there
are people who are interested in the person behind the title. Who is Lidia?
A: While many people know me as the Municipal First Lady I am first and
foremost a mother, a wife and a business person. Yes, I am the wife of
the Municipal President but we are a team and I don t define myself by my
husband’s accomplishments, even thought I do support him on all his en-
deavors either personal or political.
